Enjoy an alignment-based Hatha yoga class, with a focus on full-body stretching.

Join me every Thursday at 18:30 GMT to start cultivating a healthy home yoga practice.

Please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes before class to give yourself a moment to arrive on the mat and find some stillness before commencing.

Prepare your environment, you will need a yoga mat and blocks if you have any (if not a stack of books will do just fine).

I’d also recommend having a blanket and some cushions to hand.

These items are great as home yoga props! You’ll be automatically muted upon arrival.

To allow others to ground themselves without distraction, I’d be grateful if you keep yourself muted.

A space for questions will be opened up at the end of class.

To create an intimate circle and so that I can give verbal adjustments, please arrange your camera so that your full body can be seen.

This week’s Spotify playlist is:

See you on the mat!

P.S. Below you’ll find helpful details for navigating our online class experience, but if you already know the drill feel free to skip reading from here

GETTING IN TOUCH | jamie@alignment4awesomeness.com is where you can reach me. It may take me a few days to reply, but I do check the inbox regularly so I will come back to you as soon as possible. Should you need immediate attention, please mark the subject header as URGENT.

ZOOM TIPS | These are helpful to know. They apply to desktop use, but may also work on phones too.

Gallery View vs. Speaker View are two options you may find yourself choosing between. The option is found in the upper righthand corner of the window. Gallery View shows everyone in the space at once. In Speaker View, the person speaking will take the whole of your screen.

You can also pin someone’s video if you’d like to make and keep them big on your screen. To Pin, hover over their individual image, click the three dots, and Pin Video. Unpin the same way.

If you’d like to view just the Speaker (say, me for instance while I’m teaching), and don’t wish to see others’ videos on the side thumbnails, you can click the single rectangle view option found at the top of the thumbnail videos. All but your own image will go away.

To adjust your camera before starting your video, click the up arrow directly to the right of the Start Video button on the bottom left of the window. Choose Video Settings then Video from the sidebar. You’ll see yourself there, but no one else will until you click Start Video.

To easily unmute yourself for quick voice drop-ins, you can hold down the space bar. Make sure this is enabled by going (again) to Video Settings then Audio from the sidebar. Check the bottom option box.

You can choose how your name appears on the screen by clicking Participants at the bottom centre of the window. Hover the mouse over your name and choose More to Rename yourself.

WAIVER | If at any time during the class, you feel discomfort or strain, gently come out of the posture. You may rest at any time during the class. It is important in yoga that you listen to your body and respect its limits on any given day. By taking part in this online class you understand that yoga is not a substitute for medical attention, examination, diagnosis, or treatment. You should consult a physician prior to beginning any activity programme, including yoga. You recognise that it is your responsibility to notify the teacher of any serious illness or injury before every yoga class. You confirm you will not perform any postures to the extent of strain or pain. You accept that the teacher is not liable for any injury, or damages, to person or property, resulting from the taking of the class.
